We work with other groups in the Borders and further afield to help us support visually impaired people as much as we can. On 20 March 2019, our latest outing was to an event held in Hawick by Scottish War Blinded. There we met colleagues working in some of the other organisations for visually impaired, a few listeners and recruited one or two new listeners. In the picture are Steve and Joyce (BTN Trustees), Alan from SBC, Alison from RNIB and Dawn from Scottish War Blinded. As well as our core work, we aim to support visually impaired people by giving them relevant information on our recordings and attending events such as this one for elderly or disabled people in the Borders.
We also offer a high quality recording service to produce any document in audio.
Since the implementation of the Disability Discrimination Act and subsequently the Equality Act, all documentation must be made available in Braille, large print or on audio on request.
We can help through Borders Talking Newspaper Enterprises, our commercial digital recording service. We can record any leaflet, document etc at a very competitive cost. All money raised is used to support the production of our weekly newspaper.
Contact BTNE through our contact page or telephone our office to discuss your requirements. We will be happy to supply you with a quotation.
