Borders Talking Newspapers
We are a charity based in Duns with a second group working in Hawick. We are registered with OSCR as a SCIO no SC020192.
We record items from the Southern Reporter, Berwickshire News, Border Telegraph and Hawick Paper each week in our studios. The digital recordings are sent free on data sticks to visually impaired or blind listeners as well as being streamed worldwide over the internet and on British Wireless for the Blind's Sonata service.
Listeners are loaned machines to play the recordings. The players are designed to be easily used by people with visual impairment or reduced sensitivity in their fingers.
If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please contact us through this website, by email, letter or telephone.
We depend on the generosity of our supporters to keep the service going and volunteers to keep producing the recording.
